Visita de Observación del «Ithaca Junior High School»

Durante el mes de Noviembre de 2024 hemos recibido en nuestro Instituto la visita de 6 profesores y profesoras del «Ithaca Junior High School» de la Isla griega de Itaca. Esta visita se dividió en dos movilidades «Job Shadowing» dentro de los proyectos europeos Erasmus+.

La primera se realizó con 4 profesores y una segunda dos semanas después con otros dos profesores. Todo el profesorado visitante ha estado muy interesado en cómo nuestro instituto aborda la gestión del Aula Temporal de Adaptación Lingüística (ATAL). El profesorado visitante recibe en su país un numero importante de alumnos albaneses y la misión del aprendizaje del idioma se hace prioritaria. Nuestro instituto tiene un elevado número de alumnado extranjero con la necesidad de aprendizaje del idioma Español.

Esta movilidad esta encuadrada en un proyecto Erasmus+ con el Instituto IES Sierra Bermeja de Málaga donde el IES Al-Baytar ha colaborado para ampliar el aprendizaje aportando su experiencia en estas aulas.

María Ángeles Romero profesora del aula específica de Atal prestó gustosamente su colaboración respondiendo a todas las cuestiones planteadas por los profesores. Además asistieron a las clases y comprobaron como era el desarrollo de las mismas y las técnicas empleadas.

Posteriormente estuvieron departiendo con una selección de alumnado para conocer de primera mano las sensaciones y experiencias que han vivido estos alumnos con estas limitaciones idiomáticas iniciales durante los primeros meses en el instituto.

En la segunda visita, el profesorado griego estuvo interesado también en las estrategias de enseñanza en las aulas de Secundaria y Bachillerato, donde asistieron como observadores en clases de Inglés y de Geografía, además del aula de ATAL. Agradecemos a las profesoras Marina Vargas y Mar Gómez por colaborar con este instituto.

Finalmente, desde la coordinación Erasmus+ del Instituto IES Al Baytar agradecemos el interés, amabilidad y experiencias aportadas por el profesorado griego hacia esta institución. Gracias a esta visita hemos establecido conversaciones para posibles futuros proyectos de colaboración con esta institución Griega. Inicialmente comenzaremos con un proyecto etwinning que sirva como experiencia previa a una movilidad con esta institución Griega.

During the month of November 2024, our Institute received the visit of 6 teachers from the «Ithaca Junior High School» on the Greek island of Ithaca. This visit was divided into two «Job Shadowing» mobilities within the European Erasmus+ projects.

The first was carried out with 4 teachers and a second two weeks later with two other teachers. All the visiting teachers have been very interested in how our institute approaches the management of the Temporary Language Adaptation Classroom (ATAL). The visiting teachers receive a significant number of Albanian students in their country and the mission of language learning becomes a priority. Our institute has a high number of foreign students with the need to learn the Spanish language.

This mobility is part of an Erasmus+ project with the IES Sierra Bermeja Institute in Malaga where the IES Al-Baytar has collaborated to expand learning by providing its experience in these classrooms.

María Ángeles Romero, a teacher in the specific classroom in Atal, was happy to help by answering all the questions raised by the teachers. They also attended the classes and saw how they developed and the techniques used.

They then chatted with a selection of students to learn first-hand about the feelings and experiences that these students with these initial language limitations have had during their first months at the institute.

On the second visit, the Greek teachers were also interested in the teaching strategies in the Secondary and High School classrooms, where they attended as observers in English and Geography classes, in addition to the ATAL classroom. We thank the teachers Marina Vargas and Mar Gómez for collaborating with this institute.

Finally, from the Erasmus+ coordination of the IES Al Baytar Institute we appreciate the interest, kindness and experiences brought by the Greek teachers to this institution. Thanks to this visit we have established conversations for possible future collaboration projects with this Greek institution. Initially we will start with an etwinning project that serves as a previous experience to a mobility with this Greek institution.
